Off to The Point with Lindie and Christelle - to celebrate Stellie's birthday.
The Point was a bit too big for her to play at though - her energy and voice seemed to be swallowed up inside the theatre. She would have been much better off performing at the Olympia where the fans are much closer. I would not have liked to have been much further away than we were - about 15 metres from the stage.
That said, it was an excellent concert with a good mix of Tracy's older favourites and her newer stuff.
We all loved it - definitely one of the better concerts I have been to. Tracy's voice was just perfect and her interaction with the crowd enjoyable. Great concert.

The Big Trip

Ok going through the long process of putting up all my trip photos and writing about what happened.
Since I've done basically f#!k all on these pages over the trip it means you have to go all the way back to 30 June to see and read about it all.

Day 89 - München, Germany
|
|
Last day of the trip.
Lindie and I went back into Munich and had a decent look around for the majority of the day.
Flight back to Dublin in the early evening.
89 day journey over.

Day 88 - Oktoberfest, München, Germany

Well would you know we did basically the same thing again - this time at Winzerer Fähndl of Paulaner, sponsors of the Oktoberfest.

Same again as yesterday basically - just a different tent.
The Löwenbräu-Festhalle this time...and the meeting of Herbie - an Austrian fireman.

Day 86 - Oktoberfest, München, Germany
|
|
First day at Oktoberfest in the Hippodrom of the Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu brewery.
Delightful lunch - chicken was sublime...and no it wasn't because we were drunk and hungry...just hungry...drunk came later.
Wandered around Oktoberfest in the evening and went on a few rides.

Day 85 - München, Germany
|
|
Food and a few drinks in Munich's main square.
Watch the clock do its thing at the change of the hour - bits and pieces moving about to the chimes and music.
Do a bit of shopping.
Hit the Hofbräuhaus in the late afternoon for a few drinks.

Day 84 - München, Germany
|
|
Catch train to Munich via Salzburg.
Much better than the bus rides to date - able to stretch out and have a nap along the way.
Arrive mid-afternoon and check into hotel that Lindie had booked.
Pick up everyone (Lindie, Kat, Damo, Cathy and Meagan) at the airport.
Dinner at Italian pizza place around the corner from the hotel and the guys hostel.

Day 83 - Vienna, Austria
|
|
Spent the day traipsing around the beautiful city of Vienna.
Simply stunning.
Weather has certainly taken a turn towards winter - huge difference from the previous 80-odd days of travel...actually feeling cold!
Organised train to Munich.

Day 82 - Vienna, Austria
|
|
Morning bus to Vienna.
Arrived early afternoon.
Found Wombat's hostel - got lucky as room cancellation just as I got there.
Had a quick squiz around town
Few drinks with fellow hostelliers.
